We took advantage of our Eurail passes to see more of Switzerland today by taking the early morning train into Zurich followed by a jaunt over to the Capital City of Bern.
Zurich is an amazingly serene place. There are no cars, only trams that go down the main Strasse We saw so many luxury watch stores that it was overwhelming. No high end purchases were made and we'll stick to our Apple Watches for now.
We both experienced a first by having some "Chestnuts Roasting on a Open Fire". Apparently they are in season and street vendors selling them is a thing here.
From there we took the train to lovely Bern. It is a beautiful old city from where you can see the snow capped Alps from. After exploring the city we had an authentic Swiss fondue as our Canadian Thanksgiving celebration.
We leave Lucerne tomorrow and will truly be venturing into the mountains by travelling to Interlaken. We are hoping to get the scenic train car for our trip.
